Dragon Ball's Creator: The Legacy of Akira Toriyama
At the age of 68, renowned Japanese manga artist and character designer Akira Toriyama passed away on March 1, 2024.
Although he produced a great deal of art during his 45-year career, two of his most well-known pieces were widely recognized:
Dr. Slump: This amusing sci-fi comedy manga series, which ran from 1980 to 1984, was his first major hit.
Dragon Ball: This manga, which is an action-packed martial arts adventure, gained international attention. Since its 1984 release, it has inspired a number of successful anime series, films, video games, and merchandise. Western audiences are credited with helping to mainstream anime thanks to Dragon Ball.
